Eight students from a half-dozen high schools learned—and showed off—new improv skills last Sunday afternoon at ComedyCity.
Board member Jim Sturgill prepped his team for a performance at the KC Improv Festival, coming in September, by teaching them "Problem Solvers," a longform developed by his troupe, Babel Fish. Allyson Weldy focused on scenework and stagecraft, which her group applied to short form games.
Next up: Coaches Joey Greene (ComedyCity) and Ashley Osborne (ComedyCity, KC Improv Co.) will teach classes in our next session, Sunday, July 12 (Jim will continue working with his cast). Class starts at 1pm and the show, which is open to the public, starts at 3:30. Classes are free 2014-15 Operation: Show! players; tickets to shows are $5.
